Cleaning business website guide
How much does it cost to maintain a small business website?
Lucas Brasso de Morais · · 2 min read
There is no single maintenance price for every small business website. Your recurring budget depends on domain renewal, hosting, email, paid tools and the support work you agree. Lucas Brasso’s €599 website and €399 landing page prices cover development; they do not include an ongoing maintenance subscription.
Illustrative planning example
A maintenance budget with visible assumptions
Illustrative arithmetic only, not supplier prices or a Lucas maintenance offer.
- Entered annual domain
- €20 as a hypothetical input.
- Entered monthly services
- €10 hosting + €5 email + €0 paid tools + €25 support, all hypothetical.
- Annual recurring total
- €20 + 12 × (€10 + €5 + €0 + €25) = €500.
- First year with five-page development
- €599 + €500 = €1,099 before any separately agreed taxes or extra work.
Cleaning layouts and sample enquiries are illustrative planning examples, not completed cleaning-client projects or measured results. The linked Lucas Brasso website is real work and has a larger scope than the five-page package.
What is a renewal cost and what is maintenance work?
Domain registration reserves the name. Hosting serves the website. Email may be a separate account. Form, booking and analytics services may have their own subscriptions. None of these automatically includes a developer making changes.
Maintenance labour can include dependency updates, backup checks, troubleshooting or content edits. Ask which tasks are covered, how often they happen and what is charged separately. Do not compare support plans on price alone.
Does a static website need no maintenance?
A brochure website can have fewer moving parts than a shop, but contact links, domain renewal, dependencies and service content still need attention. A working enquiry route should be retested after account or DNS changes.
If the business changes prices, coverage or opening hours, someone must update the content. Decide whether the owner has an editor, requests occasional developer work or buys an agreed support arrangement.
What should be in a maintenance agreement?
List account ownership, renewal responsibilities, backup location, restoration procedure, included edits, response expectations and the process for extra work. If forms collect personal data, agree retention and access responsibilities.
For a redesign, inventory the current subscriptions before cancelling anything. Business email and the website may use the same DNS zone even if different companies host them. Preserve that setup during a move.
How do I estimate a realistic annual total?
Collect actual renewal quotes rather than introductory offers. Add annual bills to twelve months of monthly subscriptions and agreed support. Keep one-time changes outside the renewal total.
Use the free calculator below with your figures. It distinguishes the first-year total from annual recurring cost and flags features needing a separate quote.
